Working Hours: Typically 9PM – 6AM (5 days as per a Sunday night to Friday night schedule)

The Role

We’re now looking for a Dispatch Supervisor – Night Shift to join our Cheshunt depot and help keep our operation running smoothly. This is a hands-on role, focused on getting our vehicles out on time, fully loaded, and ready to deliver. You’ll work closely with the warehouse, transport, and night teams to make sure everything runs like clockwork.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the accurately loading of vehicles of our vehicles each night—making sure orders are correct, vehicles are prepped, and everything’s ready to go. You’ll supervise the loading process, support the transport team with compliance, and be a key point of contact when things change last minute.

Key responsibilities include:

• Take ownership of the nightly dispatch process—ensuring all vehicles are correctly loaded, equipped, and dispatched on time and in full.
• Supervise the warehouse team and support with hands-on vehicle loading and checks.
• Oversee pallet wrapping, load plans, and final dispatch checks to maintain accuracy and safety.
• Ensure vehicle keys are returned and accessible for the next shift, and confirm vehicles are charged where needed.
• Support the transport team to prepare drivers for departure, including issuing handheld devices and route details.
• Liaise with transport to manage vehicle issues, late changes, or delays.
• Work closely with the wider operations team to ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Organise and monitor third-party transport providers where needed.
• Conduct daily vehicle cleanliness and damage checks, escalating any concerns.
• Contribute to a strong health and safety culture, supporting with investigations when required.
• Use transport systems and data to track and improve dispatch performance.
• Provide basic admin and compliance support (e.g. updating records, checking logs, reporting anomalies).
• Flex across tasks to meet operational needs on a busy night shift.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience working in a dispatch, transport, or logistics environment
• Comfortable supervising or coordinating a team (even informally)
• Previous experience with vehicle loading and route preparation
• Familiarity with health & safety and compliance processes
• Confident communicator—able to work across teams and shifts
• Proactive problem-solver with a high attention to detail
